Q: Why are you called the Bear?
A: My boyfriend came up with this nickname for me without knowing that my dad had given it to me first when I was only a baby! When questioned, neither of them can come up with any inspiration for the name. It just seems to fit.
Q: Can I use your recipe on my own blog?
A: Yes! I would be so excited if you did that! And I'd be REALLY happy if you linked back to Sweet Bear's as your inspiration.
Q: How do you take your photos?
A: With a little point and shoot Nikon outside on my porch. Natural light is the way to go, but if I'm stuck inside I set the ISO way up around 1600 and use a little gorilla pod. I try to make minimal edits, but when I do (mostly to correct yellow or blue tinted photos) I use a free editing software called Gimp. This is a really good guide to taking food photos!
Q: I saw the exact same recipe on Weird Kitchen Science, you thieving bastard! That's plagiarism!
A: I am WKS, and WKS means me! Or, at least, it used to. I switched to Sweet Bear's for a few different reasons. (Namely, I stopped wanting to pay for a blog). Rest assured, all of the content here is written solely by me.
Q: What the hell are you eating in the picture of you on your about page?
A: A fish-shaped sandwich with red bean paste inside. The picture was taken in a restaurant in South Korea which exclusively sells sandwiches shaped like fish.
